Job Description

The NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is looking for a highly dynamic, creative and energetic individual to join its Communications team. The incumbent is a versatile writer who will partner Communications leaders to support the Dean with messages, speeches and presentation drafts. The incumbent is also a digital native who is adept at using social media to reach audiences with news and information about the work of the School. Their efforts will help to:

  1. Raise the profile of the School as Asia’s leading medical school
  2. Showcase ground-breaking, impactful research
  3. Highlight key education programmes that train and nurture competent, compassionate doctors and nurses
  • Work with department leadership to support the Dean in the preparation of engaging decks of slides on strategic issues.
  • Coordinate and develop high-quality speeches, messages, forewords and other forms of communication materials for the Dean
  • Work with the Communications team to manage the School’s digital platforms, including website and social media platforms and perform social media analytics
  • Plan and initiate media outreach to communicate the School’s education and research achievements
  • Coordinator for all NUSMed editorial content, including corporate publications, news magazine, digital, online and social media platforms
  • Corporate event planning, organisation and management
  • Other projects and tasks, where required

Qualifications

  • The initial contract is for two years and is renewable.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications/Marketing or related discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate or agency team, working on corporate and marketing communications projects
  • Previous experience in journalism, corporate communications, digital marketing is an advantage.
  • Ethical, confident, articulate, comfortable working in multi-matrixed, multi-disciplinary environment and engaging with formidably brilliant doctors, scientists, academics.
  • Mature team player with a sense of humour, someone who is also unafraid to voice contrarian views, challenge mindsets.
  • Strong writing abilities – we are looking for a wordsmith who is able to convey information clearly, plainly and accurately. 
  • Competent speaking and presentation abilities, because the spoken word is equally important.
