Job Description

Singapore Hybrid-Integrated Next-Generation μ-Electronics (SHINE) Centre, an NUS’ newly established mid-size centre headed by Professor Aaron Thean has an opening for Senior Executive / Assistant Manager (IT / Web / Social media) within the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The candidate will have a leading role in managing the IT, web, and social media related activities, reviewing, and monitoring the execution, leading all aspects of the communication necessary for the project.


The candidate will also have responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade the Centre's website and other communications channels.
  • Responsible for the functionality of the website and social media platforms, evaluate, and manage performance, facilitate hosting and server management, and develop, maintain, and update website content.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues.
  • Identify and respond to all website security breaches.
  • Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures.
  • Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
  • Improve the User Experience of the website regularly.
  • Create strategies to grow subscriber base and web traffic metrics.
  • Conduct regular testing and regression testing for modifications in any module or functionality.
  • Able to perform in a matrix organisation working with various stakeholders of different projects and business units.
  • Any ad-hoc duties as assigned. 


  • Possess a recognised degree preferably in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related (e.g., Communication, or Information Engineering).
  • At least 1 year of relevant prior experience with IT and social media platforms.
  • Exposure to different work environments, and a background on Electrical or Computer Engineering are highly valued and preferred. 
  • Knowledge and experience in managing websites and other communication channels are highly valued, along with experience in different roles and functions. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Meticulous with keen eye for detail.
  • Possess flair for writing and adept in content creation.
  • Prior experience on website management and testing is highly valued.
  • The candidate needs to have high tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work on multiple sub-projects simultaneously, ability to prepare/disclose/handle information of a confidential nature, as well as to work in a team and positive “can-do” attitude
  • Able to work independently and with values teamwork
  • Salary and position would commensurate with incumbent’s relevant work experience (Senior Executive / Assistant Manager)
  • Open to fixed term contract with permanent staff equivalent benefits
