Job Description

The Office of University Communications (UCO) works to enhance the reputation of the National University of Singapore by raising awareness and understanding of NUS' vision, mission, values, and achievements in education, research and entrepreneurship. We work primarily in the areas of news, marketing and brand, engagement, and crisis communications. Clients include, and are not limited to, academic, research and administrative units.

This role augments and supports the Office of University Communications’ (UCO) work in raising the profile of NUS. In this role, the candidate will help to foster awareness of NUS’ key tenets and achievements through our institutional publications and news portal, creating and publishing compelling content that enhances the University’s reputation.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide editorial support on a range of institutional publications, which involves content planning, curation and development, copyediting, project management, and liaising with a range of stakeholders

  • Identify, develop, produce and adapt compelling content for various platforms, including the University’s online news portal and social media channels

  • Support the production of long-form content / messages, where applicable, such as through research and co-writing

  • Provide communications support on special projects / initiatives, working collaboratively with other NUS entities


  • Relevant degree, preferably with a major in English Language, English Literature or Communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Editorial experience is preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to conceptualise, curate and present content effectively
  • An eye for graphic design, which runs the gamut from publication covers to infographics. Additionally, experience and proficiency in photography and video production would be a bonus. 
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, with good organisation and time management skills
  • Team player who can work collaboratively as well as independently, with demonstrable initiative and gumption
