Job Description

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) seizes every opportunity and dedicates itself to provide and support the NUS student community in all aspects of student life outside-of-the-classroom. Visit to know more about OSA.

The position is responsible to lead the team in the International Students Coordinating Office (ISCO) within OSA. The candidate is to spearhead the University’s effort in enhancing wellness support for international students, drive social integration initiatives, as well as develop, coordinate and synergise International student-related knowledge, programming and resources e.g. country-specific information throughout the University. The ISCO will also serve as a direct points-of-contact for International students.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.    Provide directions and oversight for ISCO to ensure effective delivery of quality services and programmes with an outcome focused approach.
2.    Build and maintain strong partnerships with various University Offices (e.g. faculties, hostels, Global Relations Office NUS Student Union International Student Relations, Student Organisations and Student Groups etc.) to identify, develop and implement pre-departure meet and greet sessions, orientation and onboarding, mentorship, ongoing assimilation and cross-cultural competency programmes. 
3.    Enhance cross-cultural awareness and competency of students, student-facing faculty and staff.
4.    Develop resources e.g. toolkits and training materials to equip students and staff with skills and knowledge in international student engagement and integration.
5.    Support and advise cultural-based interest student groups, as well as student groups on international student engagement and integration projects.
6.    Work with the team to function as direct points-of-contact of international students and provide quicker and more adequate responses to student needs.
7.    Evaluate the success of the engagement efforts through quantitative and/or qualitative methods and data analysis of obtained results.
8.    Provide guidance to the ISCO Team.
9.    Participate in cross functional projects and undertake other responsibilities as assigned.
10.    Manage the administrative and reporting duties generated from the scope listed above.


1.    Bachelor’s Degree holder, and with at least 10 years of work experience in International Student Engagement, Youth Development and Education related industries.
2.    Highly self-motivated individual who is mature, independent, and adaptive.
3.    Meticulous and detail-oriented.
4.    Able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with multiple timelines and stakeholders.
5.    Resourceful and possess strong organisational, project management, administrative and documentation skills.
6.    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7.    Strong interpersonal & communication skills (in both verbal and writing).
8.    Proficient in outcomes and impact measurement.
9.    IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications.
