Front-End Developer with UI/UX (FD-UI/UX) for AI Singapore (Technology)

Job Description

AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI). 

 
The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts. 

We are looking for a UI/UX designer with front-end development experience to join AI Singapore to design and build web applications that translate AI research to create products of high social impact to benefit the people of Singapore. 

You will be working with a diverse team of web developers, AI engineers, and project managers to achieve this goal through designing and developing effective and appealing client-side user interfaces. 

Duties & Responsibilities 
●    Provide effort estimates for the project execution plan.
●    Interview users to deeply understand and document user requirements. 
●    Design UI/UX for web applications from user requirements.
●    Use markup languages like HTML and CSS to create user-friendly web applications.
●    Conduct UX experiments to improve the web application’s appeal and effectiveness.
●    Optimise the user interface performance.
●    Collaborate with back-end developers and other team members to improve usability.
●    Create quality mock-ups and prototypes.
●    Stay up to date on emerging technologies and techniques.

Qualifications

●    A Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related discipline;
●    Demonstrable understanding and execution of effective UI/UX design;
●    Hands-on programming experience with JavaScript, ReactJS, Bootstrap, and RESTful API;
●    Hands-on experience with UI design tools, such as Adobe XD, Figma, etc.; 
●    Hands-on experience with using raster and vector graphics editing tools, such as Adobe PS and AI;
●    Hands-on experience with using source control tools like git;
●    Proven experience in full software development life cycle;
●    Strong critical thinking and multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of initiative;
●    Excellent interpersonal communication, writing, and presentation skills in English; and
●    Experience in working in a team with people of diverse skill sets.
