Graphic Design & Digital Content Specialist (Outreach Marketing)

Job Description

This is a 1.5-year contract position @ School of Design and Environment (Dean's Office).

This position is planned to also serve the needs of the new College of Design & Engineering (CDE) in similar capacity when the School and Faculty of Engineering is officially integrated and set up w.e.f. 1 Jan 2022.

Job Purpose:

To support the Dean’s Office Outreach Marketing team in digital marketing, as indicated below:

a.    Design digital creatives in support of our digital marketing initiatives, for enhancing the online presence of our academic programmes such as undergraduate programmes, life-long courses such as graduate programmes, etc.

b.    Develop social media content (text and visual) for posting and marketing purposes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Support and work with the Outreach Marketing Team Lead in the following work areas:

•    Oversee all creatives for digital mediums, marketing platforms, collaterals and publications, from the concept phase through to finished artwork. 
•    Translate marketing directives and briefs into creative designs.
•    Responsible for developing and creating social media content (text/ graphics/ gifs/ video) for posting purposes and marketing usage.
•    Produce online banners to promote our undergraduate and graduate programmes as part of website development.
•    Develop and maintain a style guide in-house academic programme colour themes, to guide creatives designed for marketing. 
•    Handle photography assignments and maintain photo gallery to ensure sufficient images for use in creatives.
•    Support video production for outreach and marketing purposes. 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

•    At least 3 years’ experience in graphic design and social media content development. 
•    At least a diploma in graphic design and communication studies, or related field. 
•    Highly proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite [Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Aftereffects], and concept development
•    Skills in content development and writing social media posts a must.
•    Skills in videography, photography and editing an advantage. 
•    Knowledge of web design an advantage.
•    A keen eye for aesthetics, typography and layout with the ability to ensure the final design is visually appealing. 
•    Possess initiative and receptiveness to feedback and suggestions on designs and marketing content, with interpersonal skills to deal with people from different corporate levels.
