Laboratory Technologist, Molecular Genetics & Genomics (2-year contract)

Job Description

Reporting to the Project Principal Investigator, appointee will provide wet-lab and data analysis support for an on-going project titled ‘Versatile and scalable single-cell preimplantation genetic testing for chromosomal aneuploidy and segmental imbalances with/without concurrent Mendelian mutation detection using third-generation single-molecule sequencing’. This includes, but not limited to, performance of experimental protocols, data processing and analysis of raw experimentation data generated from next-generation sequencing applications, and maintenance of laboratory supplies & logistics.

 

1) Conduct wet-lab experiments.

2) Assist in development and troubleshooting of bioinformatics pipelines in next-generation sequencing data analysis.

3) Maintenance of laboratory supplies & logistics.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Life-sciences related disciplines.
  • Possess confidence to resonate with project team.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines.
  • Good analytical and organization skills.
  • Good communication, problem solving, presentation and interpersonal skill.
  • Competent in basic molecular biology & genetic work, e.g. Polymerase chain reaction, Gel-electrophoresis, Cell-culture techniques, etc.
  • Knowledge in next-generation sequencing (NGS) applications will be an advantage.
