Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Department of Physiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.  The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of allocated research projects.  The RA’s principal role will be to assist in allocated project(s).  

Main duties and responsibilities 

The RA will assist in research project(s) and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI).  The RA will be able to:

(1)        Oversee the general management of the project;

(2)        Perform experiments with animals, molecular an cellular experiments, conduct literature searches and analyze data;

(3)        Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures; 

(4)        Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should: 

(a)        Have a first degree with good results;

(b)        Be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail;

(c)        Preferably, have experience working with animals and/or in cellular analysis;

(d)        Have good communicative and writing skill; and

(e)        Knowledge of common computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS office, PowerPoint.
