Research Assistant (Health Behaviors)

An excellent opportunity is available for a Research Assistant to join the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and LRF Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk at the National University of Singapore.
This position will offer the candidate a dynamic and interdisciplinary research experience, and the opportunity to work with leading experts in psychology, health and medicine. This position will provide research support on a range of research activities associated with research projects on decision making, behaviors and risk communication in health and medical settings. There will be the opportunity to undertake further training and/or work on research projects as relevant for the candidate’s career plans.

Major duties of the Research Assistant will include:
 Conduct literature searches and assist with the literature review
 Assist with the preparation and submission of human subject ethics protocols
 Assist with the constructing and programming online surveys
 Data collection, entry, processing and coding
 Assist with the editing and preparation of documentation and manuscripts relating to the project
 Support for grant applications and administration
 Assist with the project management and provide secretarial support to the project(s)

 Bachelor’s Degree in health, medicine, or psychology
 Strong communication skills and (academic) writing skills
 Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary
 Be well-organized and have an eye for detail
 Knowledge of research methods in health/psychology (e.g., systematic review, qualitative methods, quantitative methods)

Desired/Preferred Skills and Abilities:
 Experience in conducting one or more of the following types of research: systematic review, meta-analysis, qualitative studies, survey studies
 Experience in human subject ethics protocols
 Code and analyze data using statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, or SAS).
 Have interest in risk communication/health behaviors/decision making
