Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant position for a Respiratory Pharmacology Project in the Department of Pharmacology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Respiratory Pharmacology Laboratory focuses on the target identification and drug discovery research for chronic airway diseases such as asthma, COPD and pulmonary fibrosis. Appointments will be made on a ONE YEAR contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator to ensure the successful completion of the proposed projects on time.

Main duties and responsibilities

The RA is expected to:

  1. conduct in-vitro cell culture assays
  2. conduct in-vivo animal models of respiratory diseases
  3. conduct biochemical and molecular biological assays
  4. provide administrative and secretarial support to the project
  5. support good laboratory management

Qualifications

The applicant should:

  1. have a University degree with good results
  2. be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature and attention to detail
  3. have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS office, and PowerPoint
  4. have some experiences in biomedical experimental techniques

 

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
