Job Description
The Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions (CNCS) at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The position will focus on the role of preservation credits in a science-aligned portfolio. The position is expected to begin in November 2022 or soon thereafter. The appointment is for an initial period of one year with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and lead policy-relevant, multidisciplinary and impactful research on nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation in natural and/or urban environments
• Prepare high-quality research manuscripts suitable for publication in high-tier academic journals and reports
• Contribute to grant and institute-level reporting requirements and funding proposals/applications
• Contribute to stakeholder liaison and outreach activities of the Centre
• Collaborate with other Centre researchers as an effective team members
• Mentor graduate students, undergraduate students and research staff
Qualifications
Qualifications / Discipline:
• PhD from a reputable university (or have the PhD conferred by the time the appointment commences) in environmental science, climate science, sustainability, geography, or related field
Skills:
• Highly organized and proactive
• Good time management skills and ability to multi-task effectively
• Highly self-motivated, excellent communicator and a team player
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Willing to work flexible hours and take on extra duties as required
Experience:
• Research experience land ecosystems, coastal and marine ecosystems, ecosystem services, biodiversity, climate finance, policy and governance, urban solutions, spatial analysis, conservation technology, or related field
• Publication record commensurate with career stage
• At least five publications in a peer reviewed journal (preferred)
