Job Description

Job Purpose

The job incumbent will be part of a dynamic team in NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, to organize, plan and execute the admissions exercise to candidates who are interested in the medicine undergraduate program. He/She will also provide administrative, secretarial and logistical support and guidance to the management, admissions committee and other stakeholders to facilitate effective implementation of the admissions processes.

The NUS Medicine admissions exercise consists of the Focused Skills Assessment(FSA) and the Situational Judgement Test(SJT).

FSA –A series of mini interview stations that tests candidates’ ability to make ethical judgments and solve problems

SJT – A series of questions based on real-life ethical encounters that require candidates’ to rank a number of responses according to how appropriate they are.

This is a high-stakes process and the role is to work with the Admissions Committee and Admissions team to organise the admissions exercise, evaluate and improve the existing processes and to promote NUS Medicine through outreach.​


Job Responsibilities

1) Assist in Planning & Implementing the Admissions Assessment
Focused Skills Assessment (FSA) & Situational Judgement Test (SJT)
•    Development and Refining of scenarios
•    Coordinating workshops
•    Coordinating and provideing onsite support for the assessment
•    Assisting the team leads with contacting candidates for the admissions exercise

2) Admissions Secretariat
•    Providing secretariat support to the Admissions team
•    Collating meeting slides and materials
•    Tracking of logistics and collaterals
•    Responding to enquiry emails regarding Admissions

3) NUS Medicine Outreach
•    Collating outreach materials (Slides, Posters, forms, Infographics)
•    Attending outreach to various schools
•    Helping team with Open Day and Meet & Greet preparation
•    Communicating with potential students and parents about the school, programme details, admissions requirements


  • Minimum diploma in any discipline, with at least 2 years' work experience
  • Experience in event management, customer service and outreach will be advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (verbal and writing) which enable excellent interaction with all levels of stakeholders
  • Tact and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)​
  • Mature, independent and adaptive
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with multiple timelines and demands
