Senior Executive, Department of Surgery (1-year contract)

Job Description

Job Purpose:

Provide support to the Principal Investigator in research administration, projects, and grants management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Grant administration
  • Assist with grant applications and manage grant accounts and assist in preparing grant variation, extension and progress reports to grantors
  1. Project Management
  • Responsible for communicating and coordinating with team members and collaborators to ensure projects are carried out smoothly
  • Responsible for monitoring project milestone/progress to ensure deliverables/target is met and troubleshoot for any project-related issue
  • Assist in research agreements preparation and negotiation
  • Assist researchers for DSRB submissions including initial application, amendments and study status report and also answering queries from DSRB for all submissions
  • Assist in preparing study documents and setting up workflow for all study projects
  1. HR, Finance, ad-hoc administrative duties
  • Assist with HR related matters, including preparation of job descriptions, scheduling interviews and induction of new recruits.
  • Handle finance related tasks pertaining to research grant, including tracking of budgets, claims, and procurement
  • Assist PI in any other related ad-hoc administrative duties

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree holder, preferably in Life Science, Biomedical Science, Social Science or related disciplines
  • Minimum 1-2 years working experience
  • Prior experience in research administration, grant management and/or handling ethics submission would be advantageous
  • Able to multi-task, well organized, meticulous and thorough in monitoring projects and providing administrative support
  • Possess good writing and reporting ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill, capable of engaging and maintaining effective working relationship with various stakeholders, including senior level executives and faculty.
  • Self-starter, team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
