Executive (Grant Administration)

Job Description

Working under the direction of the Vice Dean (Research) and Manager of the Research Office, the Executive will be part of a team to perform the Research Office's core functions:

a) Grant Administration
- Advise PIs on grant guidelines and requirements.
- Manage grant awards, creation of project account and progress reporting.
- Provide administration support to PIs throughout entire grant cycle from application to completion.
- Be the point of contact between PIs and various departments (e.g., Research Office, Finance Office, Academic Affairs Office) to ensure conduct of projects are aligned with University's guidelines.
- Assist in budgeting, monitoring of expenditures and budget utilisation, and procurement.
- Support PIs in recruitment of research staff, research students and part timers.
- Assist PIs in putting in place contracts and agreements with individuals or organisation needed for the conduct of research.

b) Domain Support
- Provide secretariat support to Domain Leader pertaining to domain-related meetings and operations.
- Disseminate and collate information for domain.

c) Research Office
- Manage grant calls.
- Organise research seminars and meetings.
- Collate research metrics for the School and PIs.

Qualifications

- Applicants are expected to have at least a Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised institution.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Working experience in an administrative position within an academic or research sector will be an advantage, but not a requirement. 
- A team player with effective problem solving skills and excellent communication skills to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to take initiative to learn on the job and manage assignments.
