Senior Executive (Singapore Population Health Studies)

Job Description

Lead the recruitment of community-based participants for public health research studies under the Singapore Population Health Studies unit.

 

1. Recruit, train and assess staff and surveyors on taking consent and performing interviews for human biomedical research studies
2. Provide on-the-job guidance to new surveyors or for new surveys
3. Conduct spot-checks and provide guidance on fieldwork
4. Carry out user acceptance tests for new electronic surveys
5. Design and pilot test new surveys and gather feedback from surveyors to improve survey design
6. Ensure participant information in the operations database is updated and accurate and the completed consent and data forms are accounted for and securely stored
7. Record and track the submission, rework or rejection of consent forms and questionnaires and generate reports on data quality
8. Call back research participants to verify interview data and gather feedback on the professional conduct of the surveyors when necessary
9. Counsel surveyors when mistakes are made or take necessary disciplinary actions
10. Check for acceptability of work submitted before preparing final payment to the surveyors
11. Monitor progress of survey projects and ensure project deadlines and requirements are met
12. Manage participant complaints
13. Develop training and informational materials for recruitment, data collection and participant engagement

Qualifications

  • A degree holder
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience and 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Preferably has qualifications or experience in healthcare or health related research settings
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Careful and meticulous with data management
  • Fluent in English and at least 1 other local language (for example Malay or Chinese) to be able to communicate with research participants who are only able to speak Malay or Chinese and to vet translations of study information to be given to the participants
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Able to train people on the use of smart devices and use of mobile apps
