Job Description

Purpose:

Candidate will be part of a dynamic team in NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, to organize, plan and execute curricular programs/initiatives across all medical years of the undergraduate program. He/she will also provide administrative, secretarial and logistical support and guidance to the Education Committees and other stakeholders, to facilitate effective implementation of the curriculum.  


Responsibilities:

Collaborative Learning Cases (CLCs)

  • Ensure documents required (Case guides and MCQs) are approved by the CLC Committee and comments are properly communicated to various System Block members and tutors involved. Documents required to be ready for the teaching faculty and preparation of session.
  • Conduct CLC Committee monthly meeting and doing up of meeting minutes. Agenda to be sought from the Co-Chairperson. Meeting minutes to be sent to the CLC Committee Co-chairperson for vetting and disseminated to the Committee promptly.
  • Conducting Annual Faculty Development workshop and Case Writer’s Workshop with Centre for Medical Education (CenMED)
  • Represent Curriculum at CLC Committee meeting to share feasibilities and limitations

Implementation and New Initiatives

  • Organise, plan and execute implementation plans across all medical years of undergraduate program 
  • Plan for and coordinate logistical preparations for pilots
  • Communicate and disseminate implementation-related requests and information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct reviews, surveys and feedback sessions after each pilot and consolidates findings into a report
  • Propose revisions, highlighting areas of concerns/improvements
  • Create guidelines and training materials on implementation matters

Appointment of Education Committees

  • Work with PECT and EPE team to re-appoint education committees with Vice-Dean’s approval according to appointment period
  • Work with departments to appoint new education directors when existing education directors step down
  • Disseminate letters approved and e-signed by Vice Dean (Education) and disseminated to the various Committee Members via e-mail with the respective TORs attached

Awards and Dean’s List 

  • Assist in verifying award winners and dean’s list candidates for each academic year
  • Assist to update award winners’ records in EduRec by Registrar’s Office stipulated deadline
  • Support award ceremonies such as Commencement

Others

  • Provide administrative support for all theory and clinical examinations. 
  • Execute any other administrative duties that may be assigned for the delivery, review, evaluation, and improvement of undergraduate medical curriculum. 
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Candidate should ideally have at least 1 year of work experience
  • Knowledge of medical sciences or working experience in the health or events industry would be advantageous
  • Highly self-motivated individual who is independent and adaptive
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with multiple timelines and stakeholders 
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Tact and discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (in both verbal and writing) 
  • IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications
