Job Description

Reporting to Head of Systems and Platform, you will be part of a highly motivated and passionate IT team to explore, learn and contribute towards NUS transformational goals of moving towards a more agile, secure, operationally efficient and sustainable infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supporting senior engineer or IT Architect to analyse, design, plan, enhance and implement VMware virtualize infrastructure, Hybrid Cloud infrastructure and Cloud Management Platform. 
• Responsible for system design, planning, administration and management activities below in a Software-Defined Data Centre (SDDC) environment, which is fast-changing, highly virtualized, automated and software driven:
  • Provision of virtual machines, host-based firewalls, network connection and network attached storage, etc.
  • System capacity planning; fault, performance and configuration management; software upgrade and security patches, etc.
  • Continuous systems operations and automation via coding, scripting and other software tools (e.g. HCL BigFix, Trend Micro Deep Security, Venafi and etc.) for enhanced efficiency, accuracy and service levels.
• Identity trends in SDDC, develop insights and collaborate proactively with the domain experts in applications, high-performance computing and cyber security team to study the requirements and determine the development roadmap to support the University’s growth effectively.
• Continuously update the relevant documents for SDDC operations, support, code controls and reviews.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree with at least 3 years of relevant working experience. Fresh graduate with the appropriate project and internship experience are welcome to apply. 
• Hands-on exposure to systems administration (windows, Unix or Linux), virtualizations infrastructure administration, public cloud administration, operational tools administration, security tools administration and containers infrastructure. 
• Exposure to the following areas: 
  • API and scripting languages such as Power CLI, Python, Java Script, Shell script and etc.  
• Understanding of IT related services and processes that encompassed them. 
• Fast learner and a good team player with passion to learn and apply technology to solve business problems. 
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with excellent analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
