Job Description

You will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and success of the mandatory internship programme for NUS Law students. Working together with Career Services, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all administrative aspects of the internship programme, ensuring that students fulfil their internship requirements before graduation. In addition, you will be required to support the academic functions of the degree programme.


Responsibilities will commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Programme Management:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the successful execution of the internship programme.
  • Establish/maintain partnerships with industry organizations to facilitate a diverse range of internship opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate with employers to understand their needs and tailor internship programmes accordingly. 

 

Student Support & Engagement:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for students participating in the internship programme and provide guidance and support to students in identifying and securing suitable internship placements.
  • Conduct workshops and information sessions to prepare students for the internship search process and experience.
  • Work closely with Career Services colleagues to support the organization of the annual Law Careers Fair.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics, scheduling, and communication with participating employers and students.

 

Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of student internships, ensuring compliance with programme requirements.
  • Coordinate internship agreements and paperwork between students, employers, and the university.
  • Address any issues that may arise from the internships.
  • Evaluate existing systems and processes for collecting and maintaining internship data and paperwork.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency in data management practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to procure or develop a suitable system to streamline the collection, organisation, and retrieval of student internship-related information.

 

Communication:

  • Communicate programme requirements and deadlines to students, faculty, and employers.
  • Collaborate with career services and academic advisors to promote the internship programme to students.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on the status of the internship programme to university stakeholders.

 

Evaluation and Assessment:

  • Collect feedback from students, employers, and faculty to evaluate the effectiveness of the internship programme.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to optimize the internship experience for students.
     

Degree Programme and Student Services:

  • Assist with the execution of the degree programme academic functions.
  • Provide support to facilitate students’ completion of the degree programme.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Vice Deans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Strong organisational skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed to engage and build relationships with various stakeholders including students, faculty members, and external industry partners.
  • Demonstrate creativity, problem-solving, critical analysis, and decision-making skills. 
  • Previous experience managing internship programmes or similar educational initiatives will be an advantage.
  • Prior experience with human resources, campus recruiting, or other career services industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
