APPLICATIONS FOR VISITING TEACHING APPOINTMENTS AY2026-27

We welcome applications for visitors to teach at NUS Law in Singapore for our academic year 2026-27.

Teaching commitments

Courses are run in an “intensive” format. Each course comprises a total of 27 contact hours, to be taught in 3-hour seminars, 3 times per week for 3 weeks. Classes are generally held on weekdays and some may be held in the evening. As classes are conducted face-to-face, visitors must travel to Singapore and attend NUS’s Kent Ridge campus.

Visitors can choose from one of the following teaching periods

•    the last three weeks of August 2026 (10-28 August 2026).
•    the first three weeks of September 2026 (31 August–18 September 2026).
•    the last three weeks of January 2027 (11-29 January 2027).
•    the first three weeks of February 2027 (1-19 February 2027).

We expect visitors to be available to teach over the whole of the chosen teaching period. (You may view our full academic calendar here)

Honorarium

An all-inclusive honorarium starting from SGD 23,000, depending on the level of appointment, will be offered. Airfare and accommodation costs will be borne by the visitors.

Other information

Proposed courses should not duplicate or overlap significantly with other courses offered at NUS Law in the same year. For an indication of our offerings, see the list of courses in AY2024-25 here.

Visitors are expected to submit all reading materials (e.g. cases and articles) in electronic format (either .doc or .pdf format) for uploading to the intranet and dissemination to students. No printed materials will be distributed to students. Students are also not expected to purchase any books for these intensive courses.

How to apply

Please submit your application by 1 August 2025. Include in your online application your course proposal and preferred teaching periods (nominating more than one period is helpful). Your course proposal should clearly detail learning outcomes and content that will be covered in each seminar.

The Faculty Curriculum Committee will make a decision around November 2025.
