The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore, invites applications for multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor appointments. One position will be in international security (political science-international relations or other relevant disciplines), which is broadly defined to include traditional and emerging security issues. For the other two positions—in public policy and public administration—the areas of interest are open; however, there is a particular interest in candidates with research and teaching expertise in public budgeting and finance, social policy and administration, leadership in public service, decentralization and local governance, and Technology/AI.

 

 

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a PhD conferred by 1 August 2026 in the fields of international relations, political science, public policy, public administration, or related disciplines;
  • publications in quality peer-reviewed journals in their field and/or a strong pipeline of working papers;
  • a clear research identity and trajectory to become an independent scholar;
  • research that is relevant to contemporary issues in Asia and/or Southeast Asia;
  • demonstrated ability to teach core and specialized courses in the public policy school environment; and
  • a willingness and ability to mentor graduate students.

The cover letter, research statement and teaching statement should each be a maximum of two pages, double-spaced
