Job Description

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is an autonomous research institute within National University of Singapore. IPS is seeking to hire an Executive (Field Operations Management) for its Social Lab. This role supports the Field Manager in executing fieldwork duties for research projects and overseeing a team of interviewers to ensure the collection of high-quality and timely data through face-to-face, door-to-door, and computer-assisted telephone interviews using structured questionnaires.  

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Field Manager with project setup and planning;
  • Coordinate and oversee fieldwork activities to ensure smooth execution;
  • Recruit, train, and supervise field interviewers to meet project timelines and quality standards;
  • Brief and supervise interviewers on fieldwork assignments;
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of collected data;
  • Manage project resources efficiently to achieve timely completion of fieldwork;
  • Verify data accuracy and acceptability before processing payments to interviewers and/or recruiters.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including various ministries in Singapore, to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma holder, preferably with experience in projects commissioned by the public sector;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive and proactive attitude;
  • Demonstrated ability in team motivation, supervision and leadership;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
  • Willingness to travel for field supervision and coordination;
  • Prior experience in fieldwork operations or data collection management will be an advantage;
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint);
  • Strong command of English with proficiency in at least one additional language – Chinese, Malay, or Tamil.
