Job Description

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy research think-tank in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. IPS is looking to hire an Executive (Project Management) for its Social Lab. The incumbent will liaise with clients, vendors and free-lance interviewers to fulfil project contractual obligations. This position will primarily provide support to the Social Lab's data collection projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating internal and external stakeholders for projects which include various ministries in Singapore to ensure project success;
  • Monitoring and delivering various project-required reports and materials punctually;
  • Overseeing quality control of fieldwork and data collection;
  • Managing interviewers’ workload and performance through task allocation, coordination, coaching and problem resolution;
  • Preparing of training materials and conducting training sessions;
  • Recruiting interviewers and part-time staff to meet project staffing needs and deadlines
  • Liaising with IT team to programme, deploy and verify electronic questionnaires and conduct user acceptance testing;
  • Working with QC team to ensure data accuracy and consistency;
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining workflow control systems;
  • Managing project progress and liaising with the administrative team to plan required resources to meet deadlines and budgets;
  • Providing support and handling inquiries from respondents and project team members during and outside office hours as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree holder, preferably with experience in public sector projects;
  • Prior experience project management is an advantage;
  • Experience in training of full-time, part-time and freelance staff;
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to keep to tight deadlines;
  • Excellent leadership and team motivation capabilities;
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines with attention to detail;
  • Familiarity with IT systems and computer software such as SPSS and MS Excel;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is a must;
  • Experience with data collection, questionnaire design and/or statistical software (e.g., SPSS DimensionNet, web programming languages, advanced Excel, VBA) is preferred.
