Residential College 4 (RC4) is one of the Residential Colleges located in the National University of Singapore's University Town. The college offers the University Town College Programme curriculum and a wide range of living and learning opportunities to foster the holistic development of the 600 undergraduates who reside in the college.

Job Description

The appointee will assume the role of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer and teach inter-disciplinary courses in the college, in the area of innovation & entrepreneurship and/or systems thinking. Courses with Singapore and/or Community Engagement content will be a plus. Each inter-disciplinary course may focus on a specific theme, with the aim of helping students develop broad-based and critical perspectives on innovation & entrepreneurship and/or real-world complex issues. Teaching in the college is conducted in  small group seminars for first and second year undergraduates from diverse background, using impactful and student-centred pedagogies. The appointee is also expected to contribute to the college's academic and student life programming, including advising and mentoring students in various living and learning activities.

 

Qualifications

The candidate should possess:

  • a PhD; at least 1 year's relevant teaching experience will be a plus
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for inter-disciplinary teaching
  • Keen interest in mentoring/interacting with students
  • Awareness of impactful, student-centred pedagogical approaches; interest to engage in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) will be a plus
  • Motivation in working independently and as part of a team.
