NUS-ISS seeking a Senior Learning Excellence Specialist to join our Learning Excellence team. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of our practice-based learning approaches. The specialist will mentor and support our teaching staff, drive the integration of innovative learning technologies, and adopt pedagogical strategies that ensure we remain at the forefront of educational excellence.

Job Description

1. Mentoring & Support in Pedagogy and Curriculum Development

  • Collaborate with course managers to design robust learning outcomes for new/enhanced courses, adopting practice-based pedagogical standards in curriculum design.
  • Provide mentorship and support to learning facilitators in instructional methodologies and assessment techniques, utilising data and feedback to continuously improve learning strategies.
  • Develop and deliver effective pedagogical programs for new course managers and new learning facilitators, including in-class observations and post-class coaching.
  • Identify and provide professional development opportunities for learning facilitators to enhance instructional skills and pedagogical knowledge.
  • Manage and update LE digital assets and repositories for easy accessibility and reusability by learning facilitators.


2. Quality Assurance on Learning Content and Methods

  • Establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes to uphold the effectiveness and standards of our learning programmes and delivery.
  • Conduct regular reviews of course content and delivery to identify improvement areas, tracking their effectiveness through data analysis.
  • Evaluate and introduce enhanced processes, systems and tools to improve the assessment of learning outcomes and the collection & analysis of learner feedback, driving continuous improvement in our learning programs and delivery.


3. Innovation in practice-oriented pedagogy

  • Collaborate with LE representatives to implement institute-wide initiatives, aimed at advancing learning practices and building a culture of excellence.
  • Lead new initiatives in collaboration with learning facilitators to explore innovative learning methods (e.g. blended class design) and integrate cutting-edge learning technologies into our practice-oriented pedagogy, enhancing learner engagement and facilitator effectiveness.
  • Facilitate adoption of innovative learning methods and technologies across Practices to improve learner engagement and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Good University degree in Education, Instructional Design, or equivalent related qualifications with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in curriculum development, instructional design, and delivering learning experiences using various methods for in-person, blended, online, and hybrid facilitation.

  • Expertise in integrating learning technologies into practice-oriented pedagogy suitable for business professionals and graduate programmes.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with learning facilitators (aka teaching staff) and Practice Chiefs, effectively gaining buy-in to implement pedagogical innovations.

  • Strong analytical thinking to leverage data for insights and decision-making. 

  • Hands-on experience in project management to effectively plan & manage multiple simultaneous initiatives with competing priorities without compromising quality. 

  • A resourceful facilitator with a passion to mentor others in effective pedagogy, and with a proactive attitude towards exploring new approaches and tools to enhance educational practice
