Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time and full-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals. All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency
About the Role
To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our Lifelong Education & Training (LET) Unit
Reporting to the Head of Quality Innovation, the incumbent will support a broad spectrum of administrative and management functions to ensure the efficient and effective governance of unfunded programmes, outreach initiatives, and social learning activities within the University
This role is offered on a 3-year renewable contract basis in the first instance, with the prospect of a regular open employment contract thereafter subject to satisfactory job performance during the first 3 years.
Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus subject to the incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.
The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee governance and compliance for non-academic programmes targeting youth and elderly learners, ensuring adherence to institutional and national frameworks.
• Monitor and enforce safeguarding practices, trainer suitability, learner protection protocols, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine programme reviews, audits, and documentation checks to maintain operational integrity.
• Provide operational advice on managing diverse learner groups, emerging behavioural trends, and potential programme risks.
• Work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve programme governance issues and improve overall programme quality.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, audit responses, and updates for management and funding bodies.
• Supports the design and prototyping of innovative social learning strategies to enhance learner engagement and outreach outcomes.
• Keep abreast of community learning trends and contribute to institutional best practices in social learning and safeguarding.
• Supports the planning, coordination, and execution of SCALE events to ensure smooth delivery and impactful stakeholder engagement.
• Any other responsibilities pertaining to programme registry, design and governance.
Requirements
• A recognised degree in Education, Arts & Social Science or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years’ experience in education offices, classroom experience or managing student life.
• Teaching qualifications DipEd, PGCEi, OAE, ACTA, ACLP or other facilitator certifications are highly advantageous.
• Working knowledge of CET, safeguarding frameworks, and compliance processes.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Experience & Attributes
• Mainstream teaching and/or adult classroom experience, or professionals with hands-on experience engaging youth or elderly learner groups.
• Individuals who are proactive, meticulous, and passionate about educational governance and social impact.
• Able to interpret policies, identify operational gaps, and engage with various stakeholders to drive quality assurance.
• Familiarity with community learning settings, national CET frameworks, or youth programmes is an advantage.
• Experience in service learning is valued.
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a positive work attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills.
• Strong team player, able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
