Job Description
The incumbent will support the Faculty of Science’s (FoS) Continuing Education and Training (CET) portfolio by overseeing finance and administrative operations, and contribute to formulating, reviewing and implementing policies, schemes and new initiatives to grow the CET programmes. He/she will also administer and manage CET policies, regulatory compliance and financial governance, as well as be the faculty liaison to ensure alignment with the University’s vision and mission in lifelong learning.
The duties and responsibilities of the incumbent, in the Dean’s Office, FoS, include but are not limited to the following –
• To proactively manage the finance and administrative matters of FoS short CET courses
- Manage invoicing, billing reconciliation and accounts receivable, including resolving discrepancies and monitoring outstanding payments.
- Process and administer funding and subsidy claims (e.g., SSG credits), ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely submissions.
- Monitor programme level budgets and Profit-and-Loss performance, prepare basic financial reports, and flag variances for follow up.
- Maintain proper finance records, compliance, and audit readiness, ensuring processes meet institutional and regulatory requirements.
• To act as the faculty liaison with NUS’ School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) and other relevant units in NUS
- Facilitate coordination and communication between central units and departments in FoS to ensure smooth implementation of CET policies and processes.
- Understand and be in-tune with the academic processes and CET framework discussed at the Faculty and University and support the implementation of policy updates across departments in FoS.
- Provide guidance and support to departments of FoS on CET-related operational matters.
• Provide other general administrative support to drive the CET programmes’ growth
- Support data collation, reporting, and analysis to inform planning and performance tracking.
- Contribute to process improvements and workflow enhancements to strengthen efficiency and service delivery
Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info
• At least a good bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable university
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in consultative selling/executive education, preferably in the education sector
• Results-driven, self-motivated and highly disciplined team player
• Excellent coordination and organization skills, with a customer service mindset
• Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
• Resilient, resourceful with good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications
- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.
- The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits
- The incumbent will be placed on a fixed term contract of two years (renewable).
