Job Description
The successful candidate will work with A/Prof Ee Pui Lai Rachel on the design and development of stable peptide drugs and biomaterials as next generation antimicrobial therapeutics capable of tackling multidrug resistance under a project on Multifunctional peptide nanonets as novel antimicrobial agents.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
• Develop and perform microbiological, biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays e.g. bacteria culture, flow cytometry, ELISA and Western blotting
• Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
• Support laboratory housekeeping, purchasing, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative and compliance-related processes.
Qualifications/Discipline: Degree or postgraduate in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences or related disciplines
Skills:
o Proficient in designing and conducting experiments within areas of cellular work and biomaterials
o Experience in tissue sample handling and confocal microscopy
o Attention of details, strong analytical and problem solving skills
o Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines
o Good written and oral communication skills, meticulous record-keeping
o Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit
