Job Description

The candidate will help to profile the Faculty of Science to diverse audiences by developing impactful long- and short-form content for multiple channels. The candidate’s primary scope is on content strategy and creation, but he / she will also support the team in other areas of work.

 

Primary Jobscope

 

Content Strategy and Planning

• Develop and execute content strategy and messaging to support the Faculty’s work

• Gather insights through data analytics and derive actionable steps in optimising content

• Proactive in researching leads for story development 

 

Content Creation

• Develop original and quality content according to briefs

• Work with content owners to translate complex technical information into compelling content for diverse audiences

• Develop and maintain content calendars to ensure timely and relevant content updates across multiple touchpoints including publications, socials, articles / blogs, speeches, Q&A documents, website copy, electronic direct mailers, etc

 

Quality Assurance

• Advanced proofreading and editing skills to maintain high-quality standards for all content and ensure accuracy and clarity

• Ensure consistency in tone, style and adherence to editorial guidelines

 

Secondary Jobscope

Work with the team in other areas of work, which include but are not limited to events management, digital communications, engagement with stakeholders to support outreach.

 

Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info

• Relevant qualifications at least at diploma level and related experience

• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with an ability to turn complex topics into simple, engaging narratives (backed with a portfolio of published articles)

• Competent in long- and short-form content development

• Interest in science communications preferred

• Must be able to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects concurrently and work well under pressure.

• Organised with attention to detail

• Software proficiency in content management systems (e.g., WordPress), Adobe creative suite and photography skills would be a definite advantage

 

- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.

- The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.
