Job Description

 

This role will support the CHI laboratory (located in E8, NUS) to ensure smooth operation and safety in the labs. Contributes to the CHI’s educational mission and provides robust administrative support for Institute's operations, research, and academic programs.

 

Lab Management and Operations:

 

  • Supervise laboratory cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
  • Take part in safety inspections for research and teaching labs.
  • Handle electronic and chemical waste for CHI.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and oversee common lab equipment and facilities.
  • Train new users and students in the safe use of lab equipment.
  • Manage procurements for CHI.
  • Participate in asset verification exercises.
  • Administer the smartcard system, managing office and lab access for CHI.

Educational Programmes and Activities:

 

  • Aid in coordinating logistics for CHI's modules and training programs.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating educational activities, such as open house events.
  • Communicate with NUS units and departments regarding CHI's operations.
  • Coordinate with speakers and participants for conferences and workshops.
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors.


Outreach:

 

  • Administer and refresh the Institute's webpage in collaboration with internal and external vendors.


Others:

 

  • Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by the Director.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree/Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry or related disciplines.
  • Possesses robust multitasking abilities and can execute tasks thoroughly and with clarity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Meticulous with keen attention to detail.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-driven, resourceful and highly motivated.
  • Proactive and innovative problem-solving approach.
  • 1 year working experience in laboratory management. (Fresh graduates are welcome)
