Job Description
The Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM) is seeking a laboratory technologist to assist the Head of Operations and Facilities to ensure long term safety and operational readiness of the cleanroom, lab facilities and infrastructure. The duties and responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and manage servicing contractors, ensuring that they carry out the regular preventive maintenance tasks of the ACMV (Air-Con and Mechanical Ventilation) tools at the highest efficiency
- Perform regular inspections and safety training to the maintenance contractors, ensuring compliance with NUS safety protocols
- Perform regular tool parts management, ensuring timely change-out of consumables or spare parts such as fan motors and bearings
- Provide on-site training and user support for the operations of tools in the cleanroom
- Provide basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for the assigned tools
- Participate in facility/infrastructure projects to manage energy efficiency at CA2DM
- Assist the fire safety coordinator in planning and coordinating safety related exercises such as fire drills, housekeeping and management system audits
Job Requirements
- Possess at least a diploma in engineering or science discipline or equivalent
- At least 3 years of related experience working in ACMV servicing and maintenance
- Preferably at least 2 years of relevant experience working in labs/cleanrooms or relevant workplace
- Preferably trained in emergency response and first aid
- Meticulous, resourceful and innovative with a positive work attitude, responsive and adaptive to changes in research environment
- Able to work independently and a good team player
- Good communication skills
