The Yeo Boon Khim Mind Science Centre (MSC) at the National University of Singapore is dedicated to advancing mind science through education, applied research, and real-world impact. It aims to strengthen mental health and wellbeing at every life stage. The Centre researches youth and adolescent resilience, community and caregiver mental health, workplace wellbeing, and digital interventions. MSC emphasises prevention and develops evidence-based, scalable programmes that translate mind science into education, professional practice, and policy for healthcare, communities, and society.
The appointee will be based at the MSC and will work closely with the Centre Director and interdisciplinary faculty across psychology, psychiatry, and public health to contribute to high-quality postgraduate and professional programmes. The position may be offered at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will be on a fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal if the performance is satisfactory.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Build and maintain expertise in mind science and clinical psychology–related domains, aligned with MSC’s focus on prevention, resilience, mental wellbeing, and applied mental health.
- Contribute to the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of postgraduate and professional education programmes, including blended and online learning formats.
- Develop curriculum content and learning materials grounded in psychological theory, clinical evidence, and applied practice.
- Teach and facilitate learning activities related to clinical psychology, mental health assessment, intervention principles, resilience, and applied mind science, as appropriate to the programme.
- Participate in programme evaluation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of educational offerings.
- To provide clinical psychology training, supervision, and mentoring
- To build and strengthen a professional network, seek out new connections to support the programme's placement component.
- To champion the accreditation of the Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research, implementation studies, and translation of evidence into educational and community programmes.
- Contribute to outreach and engagement with professional bodies, community partners, and affiliated institutions to strengthen MSC’s education and training network.
- Support scholarly dissemination, including preparation of educational reports, analyses, and contributions to publications where relevant.
- Perform other duties incidental to the role in support of the Centre’s education, research, and outreach objectives.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A PhD/Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, or Master's in Clinical Psychology or related disciplines
- Registered Clinical Psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society
- Formal training and/or demonstrated expertise in clinical psychology or applied psychological practice, relevant to education and training.
- Ability to teach at postgraduate or professional levels in areas related to clinical psychology, mental health, and mind science.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple academic and programme-related responsibilities.
- Proven capability in leading the educational programme with strong administrative skills
