Job Description
The Centre for International Law (CIL) is looking for a responsible Management Assistant Officer to provide clerical and administrative support to the Strategic and Operations Manager and the Ocean Law & Policy Team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the recording of CIL Ocean Law & Policy's team deliverables under different research grants and funding sources, and preparation of any deliverable reports;
- Assist with the management of Ocean Law & Policy’s budget, including keeping track of income and expenses;
- Assist with arrangements and confirmation of internal meetings within the CIL Ocean Law & Policy Team and external meetings with stakeholders (e.g. sending of calendar invites, booking of meeting rooms, etc.);
- Help manage the calendar of one of the Programme Heads;
- Assist as claims assistant for the Programme Heads;
- Assist with AsianSIL membership creation admin;
- Assist, where necessary, in organizing Ocean Law & Policy events;
- Assist in updating CIL Ocean Law & Policy activities and research content on the CIL website as requested.
Qualifications
- Good Polytechnic diploma with administration experience
- An excellent command of English
- Familiarity with all Microsoft Office applications, with a particular emphasis on effective use of and experience with Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with Google Drive and Google Sheets and other comparable online storage and document management platforms
- Basic understanding of budgeting for project management, budget reporting and project reporting

CIL was established in 2009 as a university-level research institute at the National University of Singapore (NUS). It is located on the Bukit Timah Campus of NUS, together with the Faculty of Law and the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy. As a university-level research institute, CIL engages in both legal and multi-disciplinary research on wide variety of international law issues.
