Job Description
As a new role within the outreach team of the Centre for Quantum Technologies, the Educator will contribute to developing the Centre’s strategy for outreach to youth and lead delivery of its actions.
The Educator will be expected to work closely with the Centre’s administrative team, research staff and PhD students to plan and implement activities for pre-university and undergraduate students. They will also need to engage with teachers and lecturers in schools and polytechnics. Activities will be run both in CQT and outside venues.
Roles and Responsibilities

- Support CQT PhD students in organising QCamp, the Centre’s flagship outreach initiative for JC students, and associated programme for teachers
- Do research with teachers to prioritise actions and align content with curriculum and classroom needs
- Collaborate with CQT researchers to develop talks, materials and hands-on activities that can be taken into schools or run at CQT
- Coach CQT researchers and PhD students for their participation in outreach
- Deliver introductory talks to youth and other external audiences
- Coordinate logistics for school events, including tech setup, room bookings, and arrangements for lab tours
- Manage the library of resources used for school engagement, both digital and physical
- Explore expansion of outreach programmes to undergraduate level, working closely with faculty hosted in CQT
- Support the CQT admin team with other projects as required.
Qualifications

- A PhD or Masters in quantum technologies
- Experience in teaching or strong interest in pedagogy
- Creative ability for storytelling and activity design
- Confident and clear presenter
- Capable of running simple experiments
- Good organisational skills
- Familiarity with the educational system in Singapore would be an advantage
