Job Description
A Research Assistant position is available immediately in the Li-Ren Kong and Sanjay De Mel research team. The position is funded by a thematic grant under NUS Centre for Cancer Research (N2CR) to investigate the key drivers in multiple myeloma, with the eventual goal to develop a ex vivo screening model for drug development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Research:
- Handling and processing clinical samples for genomics and proteomics analyses, including the establishment of long-term culture models for in-depth molecular characterization and functional studies.
- Organize and document experimental results systematically.
- Analyse data and summarise findings for the research team.
Administrative duties:
- Assist with lab housekeeping and administrative duties as needed.
- To maintain the N2CR Avatar portal, including registering & updating new entries and keeping track of the usage of the portal.
- To assist with administrative or ad hoc duties under the N2CR organoid interest group.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in molecular biology or cancer biology.
- Knowledge in cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with ability to work independently.
- Prior experience on handling human patient material or organoid culture is preferred.
- Experience in laboratory management is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
