Job Description

The Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (CSI) at the National University of Singapore is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Research Assistant to support ongoing research in cancer biology and related biomedical sciences. The successful candidate will conduct experiments, analyse data, and contribute to research outputs under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. The role also includes collaborative and administrative responsibilities to support smooth laboratory operations

 

Duties & Responsibilitie

1. Research Duties

  • Conduct laboratory experiments using techniques relevant to the research project (e.g., molecular biology, cell culture, imaging, flow cytometry, etc.).
  • Assist in the design and optimisation of experimental protocols.
  • Record, analyse, and interpret research data accurately.
  • Prepare reagents, samples, and equipment for experiments.

 

2. Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and updated experimental records.
  • Compile data for presentations, reports, publications, and grant applications.
  • Assist in preparing figures and tables for scientific papers.

 

3. Collaborative & Administrative Tasks

  • Work collaboratively with graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and external collaborators to support research activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentation materials.
  • Help maintain overall laboratory organisation, including inventory management and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the lab by supporting administrative and logistical needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Prior research experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Meticulous, responsible, and proactive in learning new skills.
