Job Description

The Cancer Science Institute of Singapore is seeking a Research Assistant to support wet-lab experiments, assist in laboratory maintenance, and actively contribute to the intellectual environment of the Khong Lab. Our lab focuses on understanding dysregulated RNA processes in tumorigenesis, with a particular interest in stress granules—cytoplasmic RNA-protein condensates that form in response to tumour-related stressors. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing ongoing projects while ensuring efficient lab operations and engaging in scientific discussions.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of wet-lab experiments related to RNA biology and tumorigenesis.
  • Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Actively engage in the scientific discussions and intellectual exchange within the lab to contribute to project advancements and overall lab development.
  • Work closely with lab members to drive research projects and contribute to achieving the lab’s research goals.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a related field or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 8 month of hands-on experience in wet lab techniques
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning and applying new scientific concepts and methodologies.
  • Preferred Candidate: Experience with proximity biotinylation
