The Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM) is seeking a research assistant to support engagement initiatives, entrepreneurship advisory, and external partnerships through research, coordination, and reporting. Key responsibilities include conducting industry and enterprise research to support personalized career planning and skill development, assisting in entrepreneurship consultations and startup ecosystem analysis, and supporting the coordination of stakeholder events and strategic collaborations. The role also involves preparing monthly progress reports that detail key responsibilities, accomplishments, and ongoing tasks to ensure accountability and alignment with CA2DM’s strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Employment Research & Support - Assist in delivering high-quality employment support through:

• Conducting research to support personalized career planning
• Mapping and analysing global enterprise resources
• Supporting initiatives that enhance employment skills
• Performing industry analysis and summarising trends
• Coordinating and documenting executive interview
• Tracking and evaluating career development outcomes
  
  

Entrepreneurship Advisory Support - Provide research and logistical support for entrepreneurship consultation by:

• Preparing materials for advisory sessions
• Assisting in data collection and analysis related to startup ecosystems
• Supporting the development of reports and recommendations
  
  

Partnership & Events Support

• Assist in organizing events and activities to engage external stakeholders
• Support staff in managing and strengthening strategic partnerships
• Help maintain documentation, communications and follow up with collaborators
  
  

Prepare and submit monthly progress reports detailing:

• Key responsibilities
• Notable accomplishments
• Ongoing tasks. Reports serve to ensure accountability, monitor progress milestones, and offer insights for ongoing improvement and strategic alignment riding on the previous month.

Job Requirements

• A recognised degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience preferred
• Graduates without experience and diploma holders with strong potential are welcome to apply
• Demonstrated skills in project or programme management
• Entrepreneurial experience and familiarity with startup trends in Singapore and globally are advantageous but not mandatory
• Strong passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, with a broad understanding of related concepts
• Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working in dynamic and fast-evolving environment
• A strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, proficiency in an additional language is a plus
• Sociable and proactive individual who enjoys networking with students, startups, corporates, and ecosystem partners
• Detail-oriented, resourceful, and solutions-driven, with a positive and resilient attitude
• Responsive and flexible in adapting to changes within the research or innovation landscape
