Job Description
Job Title:  Research Assistant (Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials)
Posting Start Date:  22/10/2025
Job Description:

The successful candidate will work with Dr Wang Zihao under a project on "Pioneering the Non-Volatile Memory Devices Towards the Limit of Miniaturization through Ferroelectric Graphene Heterostructures" at the Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials (I-FIM). They will be conducting their high impact research in:

  1. Fabrication of graphene heterostructures and characterize their twist angle via AFM and Raman spectroscopy
  2. Participation in the construction of a two-dimensional material dry transfer platform in I-FIM. The platform is capable of fabricating sandwich-like heterostructures, such as hBN-graphene-hBN - the main samples in this project

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree holder in Science
  • Familiar with the concept of graphene, two-dimensional materials and condensed matter physics
  • Proficient in using transfer stage, Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, tube furnace, electron beam lithography, optical microscopy and other fabrication related equipment
  • Proficient in transfer methods of fabricating heterojunctions between two-dimensional materials and other semiconductors
  • Proficient in using Raman spectroscopy to identify graphene phases
  • Proficient in using DesignCAD to design device patterns
