Research Assistant (Tropical Marine Science Institute)

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on individual who will assist with field surveys and mariculture research based at the St John’s Island National Marine Laboratory.

Job Scope includes:

• Conduct regular biodiversity field surveys (intertidal).
• Specimen processing including Imaging
• Conduct daily animal husbandry
• General maintenance and housekeeping of field equipment and aquarium
• Procurement for project needs 
• Assist in data analysis and report writing/scientific paper writing
• General administrative duties
• Other duties as and when assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science from a recognised University, majoring in Biology, Zoology, or equivalent
• Proficiency in oral and written English
• Able to work in a team and independently
• Experience with animal husbandry and fieldwork will be an advantage
• Strong interest in marine science
• Job position is based at the St John’s Island National Marine Laboratory, St John’s Island.

Ferry transport to work will be provided.
