Research Assistant (quantum algorithms and quantum software)

Job Description

The research assistant will work closely with Asst. Prof. Patrick Rebentrost in the intersection of quantum algorithms for problems in optimization and finance. The topics include quantum algorithms for linear systems, quantum algorithms for pricing of financial derivatives such as American options, quantum algorithm for Monte-Carlo estimation and their low-depth versions. The job will focus on the software development of such quantum algorithms in these areas, in particular implementing them in the available software stack and preparing demonstrations and test cases. Furthermore, the aim is to provide demonstrations on available hardware devices, comparisons between available hardware providers, and classical simulations of the quantum algorithms.

Qualifications

• Track-record working on software implementations of quantum algorithms. 
• The candidate is expected to have a master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or applied mathematics.
• Experience with existing quantum software such as Qiskit, Pennylane, or Qibo.
• Proven ability to communicate research.
