Job Description
This position supports the establishment of the Yeow Lab under the PYP scheme. The Research Assistant will focus primarily on bench-side experimental work, including mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, and microscopy. They will work closely with the PI and other team members to establish and optimize assays central to the lab’s core research areas in cell division and cancer biology.
Duties & Responsibilitie
• Design and execute cell and molecular biology experiments, including mammalian cell culture, cloning, immunoblotting.
• Support the development and optimization of new assays and protocols.
• Assist with experiments led by other lab members, with training provided where needed.
• Collect, organize, and document data using electronic lab notebooks (ELN)
• Collaborate with graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and collaborators.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation and the assembly of presentation materials.
• Maintain lab organization and support the smooth day-to-day operations of the lab.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry)
• Experience with cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and/or fluorescence microscopy
• Demonstrate initiative in learning and applying new techniques, with the opportunity to take ownership of project components over time.
• Prior contributions to peer-reviewed publications is desirable.
