Job Description

The Global Health Law and Governance Program at the NUS Centre for International Law is recruiting a Research Associate position. The Program focuses on the international legal, regulatory and governance aspects of pandemic prevention and response, and international public health emergencies. Topics of interest include the World Health Organization's negotiations on a new pandemic accord, the implication of the International Health Regulations, improving fair and equitable access to medicines, access and benefit sharing of pathogen samples, including genetic sequencing data, intellectual property and technology transfer, global health innovation and technologies, and more. The program conducts research, offers education and training, and organizes events. The Research Associate will support the work of the Program and will also undertake a personal research project. 

The duties of the incumbent will involve:

  • Carrying out research;
  • Drafting and writing memorandums and publications;
  • Assisting in teaching and events coordination;
  • Coordinating and partnering with other researchers in the field.

 

All research staff in CIL will have access to professional development opportunities (e.g., events, seminars, and training programmes) within NUS. They will also have opportunities to attend regional and international conferences, workshops, and symposiums as well as other scholarly opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in law, international law, public or global health law;
  • Background or experience in public health law and/or global health law;
  • Outstanding research and writing skills;
  • English at mother-tongue level.
