Job Description
- Development and validation of NEMO regional ocean circulation and biogeochemical modelling for the South-east Asia region.
- Write reports and publish high-quality journal papers.
- Present research findings at international conferences.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualification & Field of Study
- PhD in Physical Oceanography, Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or other related discipline.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant research experience.
- Strong knowledge of physical oceanography, ocean climate studies, regional ocean circulation and modelling.
- Experience in modelling of biogeochemical cycles, trophic interactions including human activities.
- Experience in environmental impact assessment of toxic pollutants in coastal ocean including eutrophication, suspended and bottom sediments.
- Understanding of radionuclide spill behaviour in aquatic systems.
- Experience with NEMO and radionuclide dispersion modelling is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in sediment transport modelling and marine food-web studies would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in Linux/UNIX environments and shell scripting.
- Experience working with HPC systems and supercomputing environments.
- Good programming skills in languages such as Fortran and Python.
- Experience in processing and analysing large-scale datasets in NetCDF format using tools such as Python, MATLAB, CDO, NCO, and Ferret/PyFerret.
- Experience in handling and analysing satellite, in-situ, and reanalysis datasets would be an advantage.
