Job Description
The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing.
CQT is hosted by the National University of Singapore. The Centre also has staff at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. With some 200 staff and students, it offers a friendly and international work environment

The research fellow will work closely with PI Patrick Rebentrost on developing novel quantum algorithms and subroutines. A particular focus is developing quantum methods that have potential application in the context of machine learning in the domain of finance. The work is both theoretical, i.e., formulating and proving theorems, and numerical, i.e., converting algorithms into circuits and simulating them. The job will involve proof-of-concept hardware demonstrations of quantum algorithms. The job will involve collaboration with industry partners.
Qualifications
- A doctorate in mathematics, computer science, physics, or equivalent from a renowned university/research group.
- Demonstrated research in the development of quantum algorithms towards applications.
- Proven ability to communicate research in written and spoken form.
