Job Description

This Research Fellow will drive the development of biomass conversion technologies for advanced materials towards commercialization. The successful candidate will play a key role in the potential creation of a spin-off company. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing scalable catalytic processes for biomass-to-products.
• Conducting pilot-scale testing and feasibility studies for process optimization.
• Contributing to grant proposals and securing external funding for technology scale-up.
• Preparing technical reports, business case studies, and investor pitch materials.
• Mentoring junior researchers, graduate students, and interns involved in the project.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Chemical Engineering with a focus on catalysis and/or biomass conversion.
• Experience in scaling up catalytic processes.
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering and process optimization.
• Track record of working on technology commercialization, patents, or industry collaborations is a plus.
• Ability to bridge fundamental research with industrial application.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across academia, industry, and investment sectors.
