Job Description
The Centre for International Law (CIL) at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow in International Trade Law. This is a one-year (renewable) contractual position offered in connection with CIL's expansion of its programme on International Economic Law and Policy.
The duties of the incumbent will involve:
- Develop research across areas of international trade law. An emphasis on areas of evolving development, including e.g. climate change, global economic/ trade architecture, and digital trade, is preferred;
- Publish in journals of the highest calibre with an emphasis on academically rigorous research with practical policy implications;
- Conceptualise and lead conferences, seminars, workshops, and trainings in international economic law, and take a key role in CIL's annual International Law Year in Review Conference.
All research staff in CIL will have access to professional development opportunities (e.g., events, seminars, and training programmes) within NUS. They will also have opportunities to attend regional and international conferences, workshops, and symposiums as well as other scholarly opportunities.
Qualifications
- A PhD in relevant area of international law or equivalent experience;
- A proven track record of publications at the highest level;
- A proven track record of research development and self-motivation;
- Strong leadership, organisational and communications skills;
- Candidates from the region and /or with knowledget of regional languages(s) will have an advantage.
