Job Description
The SIA-NUS Digital Aviation Corporate Laboratory (Corp Lab) is seeking a highly experienced and driven Researcher/ Project Manager to oversee proposal development, grant submission processes, and end-to-end project management throughout the lifecycle of Corp Lab operations. This role bridges academic research, industry stakeholders, and grantor agencies to ensure smooth delivery and compliance with funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Management & Grant Submission- Lead and coordinate the drafting of proposals in collaboration with Principal Investigators (PIs) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) Business Units.- Facilitate discussions to align research focus and deliverables with industry needs and grant requirements.- Ensure all proposals adhere to the requirements and guidelines of the IAF-ICP (Industry Alignment Fund—Industry Collaboration Projects) grant scheme.- Manage the process of responding to queries from grantors and stakeholders during the grant review and approval phase.
- Project Lifecycle Management (Post-Award)- Upon award of Phase 2 funding, manage and oversee the execution of all Corp Lab projects and operations.- Coordinate and monitor project milestones, deliverables, resources, and budgets.- Develop and implement project tracking systems to ensure timely and successful delivery of outcomes.- Prepare and submit regular progress reports and presentations to the Management Committee and Executive Committee.- Act as the primary point of contact with the grantor, providing required updates, financial reports, and compliance documentation.
- Stakeholder Engagement- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including NUS faculty and departments, SIA representatives, grant agencies, and industry partners.- Organise and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and reviews.- Address and resolve project-related issues and risks in a proactive and timely manner.
- Compliance & Governance- Ensure all operations and reporting comply with institutional, grantor, and regulatory requirements.- Maintain comprehensive documentation for audit and review purposes.
Requirements
- PhD in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; Masters' qualification may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- At least 5 years’ experience in project management, preferably in academic-industry collaborative research or grant-funded environments
- Demonstrated experience in proposal development and grant submission processes.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with IAF-ICP or other Singapore government grant schemes is highly desirable
