About the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT)
The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing.
CQT is hosted by the National University of Singapore. The Centre also has staff at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. With some 200 staff and students, it offers a friendly and international work environment

Job Description
The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore is looking for researchers and engineers to develop quantum network technology. This work will build on the infrastructure that has been established through the National Quantum-Safe Network. There are two positions for post-doctoral researchers.
The successful candidates will work with Professor Alexander Ling and his team to develop hardware and control methods for the achieving long distance entanglement over fiber and free-space. The objective is to build a memory assisted heterogeneous network linking the matter qubit systems available in Singapore's quantum ecosystem. There will be ample opportunities for collaborating with other research teams based in Singapore and will provide opportunities to deeply understand the challenges of building an advanced quantum communication network.
The successful candidates will be involved in all stages of the research and development cycle: collaborate with team members to define technical requirements, design, test and integrate the systems in the network demonstrations.
Job Requirements
The candidate should have:
- Ph.D. in experimental quantum optics, optical engineering, physics or related areas;
- At least 1-2 years of experience in optical design, implementation and testing of optical instruments relevant to a quantum network would be competitive
- Demonstrated ability to assemble and test complex optical systems.
