Job Description

CIL was established in 2009 as a university-level research institute at the National University of Singapore (NUS). It is located on the Bukit Timah Campus of NUS, together with the Faculty of Law and the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy. As a university-level research institute, CIL engages in both legal and multi-disciplinary research on wide variety of international law issues. Its mission is to enable Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region to play a more significant role in the promotion and development of international law. CIL is currently looking for an outstanding scholar in the areas of international law and technology, artificial intelligence and digitalisation to serve as Visiting Research Associate Professor.

 

The Visiting Research Associate Professor will be engaged in the development of research capabilities and knowledge of junior scholars by immersing them in a dynamic and supportive research environment where they can enhance their understanding of different areas of international law and technology, artificial intelligence and digitalisation.

 

He/ She is also expected to conduct research in the field of his/her expertise, undertake research collaborative initiatives within CIL, publish in top-tier peer reviewed journals as well as assist in the development of and participate in CIL training courses.

Qualifications

•   PhD degree in public international laws or related fields;

•   Strong track records of outstanding research achievements in area of expertise in the international research community;

•   Demonstrated aptitude for good leadership, strong interpersonal skills and management abilities;

•   Evidence of having successfully directed research projects or academic initiatives;

•   Evidence of course development and strong teaching in the field of expertise.
