Job Description
The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading multidisciplinary institute devoted to developing new paradigms for understanding biological functions in health and diseases from the perspective of cell, tissue and organ mechanics/dynamics and mechano-signal transduction. The institute operates on a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with an extensive infrastructure supported by core facilities dedicated to technology such as state-of-the-art light microscopy, nano- and micro- fabrication, and computing.
We invite applications from candidates who are experts in the field of theoretical biology, particularly theory of living systems, to apply as a Visiting Research Fellow to MBI. Particularly, the MBI seeks applicants with a commitment to both independent and collaborative interdisciplinary research in the area of theoretical biology and living systems.
Qualifications
The candidate should be an internationally recognized scientist in his field who proposes to carry out research that is complementary to and builds upon MBI's core expertise and current research. A position in a top ranked institute or university that is active in living systems research will be advantageous. The candidate should take a multidisciplinary approach in proposing collaborative research projects that engages multiple Principal Investigators at MBI and synergises with their current work. The candidate should be able to commit to working at MBI for two to six months and willing to engage with the wider research community investigating cell mechanics and aging in Singapore.
